Countries Qualified for Olympic Flag Football in 2028
Flag football will make its Olympic debut at LA28 with six men's national teams and six women's national teams. The United States holds the host-country place in both tournaments. The first competitive qualification places were awarded at the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships.
This tracker lists only countries with confirmed Olympic quota places. Individual Olympic player rosters have not been finalized.

The road to Los Angeles uses a host-country quota, the 2026 IFAF World Championships, 2027 continental competition and the 2028 Olympic Q-Series.

The United States holds one men's and one women's quota place as the host nation.

2026 IFAF World Championships
The two highest-placed eligible countries in each gender earned Olympic quota places. Italy and Canada qualified in the men's tournament. Canada and Mexico qualified in the women's tournament.

2027 IFAF Continental Championships
The top two unqualified men's teams and top two unqualified women's teams from each of IFAF's five continental regions advance to the final Olympic qualification stage.

Olympic Q-Series: Montreal
Ten men's teams and ten women's teams enter the Q-Series pathway. The top two eligible teams in each gender in Montreal earn LA28 quota places.

Which countries have qualified for 2028 Olympic flag football?
As of September 18, 2026, the men's field includes the United States, Italy and Canada. The women's field includes the United States, Canada and Mexico. Three spots remain open in each tournament.
How many flag football teams will play at the 2028 Olympics?
Six men's national teams and six women's national teams will compete in the inaugural Olympic flag football tournaments.
How will the remaining Olympic teams qualify?
The 2027 IFAF Continental Championships feed the Olympic Q-Series. Montreal will award two remaining quota places per gender from June 1-4, 2028, and Orlando will award the final place per gender from June 8-11, 2028.
Are the Olympic player rosters already set?
No. Countries have earned Olympic quota places, but final player selections will be made closer to the Games under the applicable national and international eligibility procedures.
